‘Kill Or Be Killed’ – Samet Agdeve Vows To Shock The World Against Roman Kryklia At ONE Fight Night 37

Turkish kickboxer Samet Agdeve

Samet “The King” Agdeve has arrived – undefeated, unshaken, and ready to set fire to the heavyweight landscape.

On Friday, November 7, in U.S. primetime, the Turkish phenom will make his long-awaited promotional debut at ONE Fight Night 37 on Prime Video in Bangkok, Thailand, where he’ll challenge reigning two-sport king Roman Kryklia for the inaugural ONE Heavyweight Kickboxing World Title.

A victory over the Ukrainian colossus would not only send shockwaves throughout the global martial arts community, but it would also fulfill a personal journey that began long before Agdeve stepped under the bright lights.

He said:

“I’m excited, I’m happy, and I’m hungry. I’m just waiting for the fight. I’m more ready than I’ve ever been.”

The dangerous knockout artist has compiled 17 straight victories, 12 of them by stoppage, and built his reputation on explosive finishes and overwhelming forward pressure.

Agdeve’s breakout moment happened this past September, when he stormed through the SENSHI Heavyweight Grand Prix.

That evening in Bulgaria, the 21-year-old defeated three consecutive opponents to win the tournament belt. That incredible feat also caught the attention of ONE Championship’s matchmakers, who signed him soon thereafter.

Standing across the ring from him at ONE Fight Night 37 will be Kryklia, a towering 6-foot-7 tactician whose precision and knockout power have made him nearly untouchable.

The Ukrainian superstar already holds both the ONE Light Heavyweight Kickboxing and Heavyweight Muay Thai World Titles. During his six-year promotional stint, he has demolished elite fighters including Glory Kickboxing World Champion Tarik “The Tank” Khbabez, former WBC Muay Thai World Champion Alex “The Viking” Roberts, and longtime rival Iraj Azizpour in highlight-reel fashion.

But Agdeve isn’t blinded by Kryklia’s aura. In fact, he’s dissecting it:

“Roman Kryklia is a good fighter. I respect him. But until now, he hasn’t stood across from someone like me. I think his head area is vulnerable. He’ll be scared of shots to the chin and step back.”

That confidence runs deeper than bravado.

It’s conviction forged from years of hardship, struggle, and relentless self-belief. That mindset has carried him from Izmir, Turkey, to Stuttgart, Germany, and it brought him from humble beginnings to a shot at history in the world’s largest martial arts organization.

Outside the ring, Agdeve is calm and personable. But once he steps between the ropes and the opening bell sounds, that demeanor vanishes.

He stated:

“I’m a fearless fighter. Sometimes, I’m even a little scared of myself.

“I’ll knock [Kryklia] out not with a high kick, but with a high punch. He doesn’t have much of a chance against me. My only slogan is: kill or be killed.”

Agdeve Says ONE Championship Belt Will Change His Life

Claiming the ONE Heavyweight Kickboxing World Title at ONE Fight Night 37 isn’t just another milestone for Samet Agdeve, but rather a symbol of everything he has fought for.

The unbeaten phenom stands at the edge of his ultimate dream: winning the belt on the world’s biggest stage.

Growing up in Turkey, he learned to stand tall through hardship. His mother battled cancer, his father worked long hours in construction, and money was always tight. But even then, Agdeve always held on to his goal.

He said:

“My biggest motivation is my loneliness. Since childhood, I’ve been very alone, I lacked support, and I was even used. This fight is like revenge for me. My biggest motivation is my childhood.

“I slept on the streets. I got stabbed. I went hungry. I worked in construction. At night, I worked security. My wife supported me so much in those times – I can’t repay her.”

That fire carried him beyond Turkey’s borders. When he moved to Germany, life tested him again. He had no safety net – just grit and a vision. He worked long days, trained whenever he could, and kept pushing through exhaustion and scarcity.

Still, he refused to quit. Every obstacle became a lesson in endurance. When his mother told him to keep pushing, to one day tell his story to the world, he vowed to do so.

The 21-year-old recalled:

“My mother used to say, ‘When you rise, you’ll tell these stories,’ and I promised I would. I didn’t think it would be this soon, but thank God I’m here.

“Now, it’s time to make my name known to the whole world. Just wait. My time to explode is near.”

That promise now drives him toward the greatest night of his life. To him, the gold is more than a title. It’s validation, redemption, and proof that all those nights of pain were not wasted.

For Agdeve, victory in Bangkok would change everything. It would rewrite the narrative from survival to triumph. Most of all, this World Title win would shock fans all around the globe and silence his biggest critics.

He said:

“If I win this, everything will be different. When I put that belt around my waist, nobody will be able to say anything. They always had excuses when I won – this happened, that happened. They never really liked me. Now, I want to silence the whole world by taking that belt.”
