Roman Kryklia Meets Samet Agdeve For Inaugural Heavyweight Kickboxing World Title At ONE Fight Night 37
A historic World Title main event and captivating mixed martial arts bout are locked in for ONE Fight Night 37 on Prime Video, which broadcasts live in U.S. primetime from Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday, November 7.
In the headline attraction, towering dual-sport king Roman Kryklia will collide with undefeated Turkish knockout artist Samet Agdeve in a five-round clash for the inaugural ONE Heavyweight Kickboxing World Championship.
Plus, American sensation Gilbert Nakatani will square off against Indonesian star “Dynamite” Eko Roni Saputra in a pivotal flyweight MMA battle, as both men attempt to claw their way into the top-five divisional rankings.
Kryklia, who stands at a staggering 6-foot-7, owns a 51-7 professional record, and he has been absolutely flawless during his time in the world’s largest martial arts organization.
The Ukrainian powerhouse first struck gold in November 2019, as he dismantled Tarik Khbabez in the third round of their long-awaited rematch to become the inaugural ONE Light Heavyweight Kickboxing World Champion. He then turned back challengers Andrei Stoica and Murat Aygun to solidify his reign.
In 2022, Kryklia moved up a weight class and tore through the ONE Heavyweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix. He blasted Guto Inocente with a head kick in the semifinals and then knocked out his longtime rival Iraj Azizpour in the tournament finale to claim the prestigious silver belt.
Kryklia’s dominance didn’t stop there.
The Ukrainian skyscraper added yet another accolade to his trophy case at ONE Fight Night 17 in December 2023, as he knocked out WBC Muay Thai World Champion Alex Roberts to claim the inaugural ONE Heavyweight Muay Thai World Title.
He successfully defended it against multi-time WBC Muay Thai World Champion Lyndon Knowles at ONE Fight Night 30 this past April, knocking down the Brit three times to clinch the first-round TKO.
This November, Kryklia will attempt to build upon his already incredible legacy and extend his 15-bout winning streak. But to do so, he’ll need to beat a hungry new challenger who has never been defeated.
Agdeve enters the world’s largest martial arts organization with a flawless 17-0 record and 12 knockouts. At only 21 years old, the Turkish phenom has already made waves on the European circuit, most recently conquering the SENSHI Heavyweight Grand Prix, where he fought three times in one evening to capture the tournament crown.
With Kryklia hunting for a third belt and Agdeve looking to shake up the division in his promotional debut, this inaugural ONE Heavyweight Kickboxing World Championship bout is destined to be iconic.
The card also delivers high-stakes action in the flyweight MMA division, as Nakatani meets Saputra, with each man having their eye on a spot in the top-five divisional rankings.
Nakatani entered the world’s largest martial arts organization with an 8-1 record and a four-bout winning streak.
Since then, the 31-year-old has gone the distance with top-tier competition, dropping decisions to future ONE Flyweight MMA World Champion Yuya “Little Piranha” Wakamatsu in his promotional debut at ONE Fight Night 26 last December and Filipino knockout artist Jeremy “The Jaguar” Miado at ONE Fight Night 28 this past February.
Now, the American standout faces a fierce soldier who is equally determined to return to the win column.
Saputra endured a doctor’s stoppage in his MMA debut, but he responded with a remarkable surge, as he strung together seven consecutive first-round victories.
The Indonesian Wrestling Champion displayed slick submission skills and surprising knockout power, fueling talk that he could become his nation’s first MMA World Champion.
Saputra’s momentum, however, collapsed in 2023 when he lost a spirited three-round battle to former ONE Flyweight MMA World Title challenger Danny “The King” Kingad at ONE Fight Night 7. He then stumbled against top-five contenders “Wolf Warrior” Hu Yong at ONE Fight Night 15 and Sanzhar “Tornado” Zakirov at ONE Fight Night 29.
Now, “Dynamite” looks to reignite his campaign for World Title contention, while Nakatani is motivated to earn his first victory on ONE’s global stage. Their clash promises fireworks – and perhaps a path into the flyweight elite.
